BF6 Players Agree: Challenges Are Overly Demanding
The release of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 received widespread acclaim, especially for its flagship multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, concurrent player counts peaked at nearly 750,000. Yet, despite its popularity, an increasing amount of players are expressing frustration over a portion of the release's most difficult challenges, which are required to obtain particular firearms.
Users have commenced turning to tailored sessions set up using the Portal feature to finish these tasks, underscoring just how arduous these assignments have become.
Comprehending BF6 Objectives
Missions serve as Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, different from the regularly refreshed day-to-day and weekly tasks. It features four categories of assignments, but although many only reward cosmetics and some tools, achieving the firearm tasks is the only way of obtaining a dozen out of forty-one key firearms found within the game.
A number of these locked weapons might eventually earn a place on rankings for the best guns in Battlefield 6.
Player Outcry across Reddit
Over on Reddit, players are understandably sharing their frustrations about how hard and tedious several of these challenges are. One user highlighted one of the most outrageous examples, required to unlock the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Neutralize 300 foes with LMGs
- Inflict 10,000 hipfire damage with LMGs
"This task is so awful and completely out of mind, I want to gouge my eyes out," is a quote that summarizes just how frustratingly difficult these tasks are.
The suppression feature in the game is more diminished than before in the series, so it has significantly fewer advantages in battle as it used to in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you fire a burst without hitting the target.
At the same time, using an LMG from the hip is extremely unreliable and is effective only at extremely close range, which is not usually a position you prefer to be. The commenter also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, needed to obtain the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that task would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and conversely.
Another Ridiculously Tough Challenge
One more community participant highlighted a further incredibly demanding challenge, now in the sniper rifle category to access the PSR:
- Achieve 150 headshot eliminations over 200m with sniper rifles
This is difficult enough by itself, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at such a long range.
There's a healthy variety of map sizes, but because there are just nine levels in the game right now, it means you're limited to playing one of the larger locales, another expansive area, and perhaps Operation Firestorm in a best-case scenario if you plan to engage from afar from over 200m away.
The Bypass
However, there is a solution: the custom game tool. The Battlefield Portal is a feature that enables you to design tailored experiences on the battleground of your choice, featuring computer-controlled players. This allows you can bypass the intended method… but it doesn't really seem like the intended gameplay experience.
However, when completing the missions in a normal session seems counterproductive, since you must engage in such an unorthodox manner that doesn't benefit you or your team, who can blame someone for finishing these in a personal session so squad members are not disadvantaged?
Upcoming Tweaks
It should not be shocking if some of these assignments are made easier in the near future, because if they're not, some players simply are unlikely to obtain the locked firearms.
At the moment, the audience continues to voice their opinions on these challenging multiplayer missions, expecting a more balanced gaming experience in coming revisions.
