The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Preview Arrives, Revealing Fresh Faces Rosalina & Bowser Jr. Actors
Nintendo and Illumination unveiled the debut comprehensive teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie this Wednesday. This occurred during a Nintendo-focused broadcast that centered on the forthcoming animated feature.
Following up on the 2023 hit film The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this new installment will transport Mario to the distant reaches of the cosmos. In his journey, he meets a fresh princess character and a challenging new adversary in Bowser Jr., the son of the King of the Koopas.
A Space-Faring Quest Inspired by Iconic Releases
In the vein of the Wii console classics that act as its source material, Mario will depart from the cozy environment of the Mushroom Kingdom to travel across the galaxy. On his epic voyage, he will encounter once more some well-known personalities, including the Luma, a breakout star from the previous film.
Yet it looks like Mario and his sibling Luigi will battle a different foe in the form of Bowser's furious offspring, who apparently utilizes powers related to metal. Notably, the preview for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not exclusively centered on visuals from the Galaxy games; it also contains hints to other beloved games like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
Celebrity Voice Actors Returns and Expands
The feature will feature once again of the initial voice actors, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
Joining the cast for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will portray Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to play Bowser Jr. This was confirmed by Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri.
A Significant Period for Mario
The upcoming Mario film is planned to debut near the 40-year celebration of the initial Super Mario Bros. release. Apart from the cinematic release, 2026 promises to be a major period for Mario and his companions.
The company has a set of three fresh titles publicly declared for 2026, featuring Mario Tennis Fever, a version for Switch 2 of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a latest Yoshi adventure game titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.
Premiere Date Announced
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is planned for launch on April 3, 2026.
